Troubleshooting
Problem: KickKeys
cannot trap Microsoft Word or Microsoft WordPad or Outlook or Outlook
Express.
Possible
Solutions:
- KickKeys is not set to trap
the application. Right-click on KickKeys icon in the system tray and navigate to
"Application" menu. Ensure that the applications Microsoft Word
, WordPad , Outlook and Outlook Express are checked. If
any of these four is unchecked it will not trap that application. You can set these options
by opening up the Console form too.
- The application was opened
after KickKeys had issued the Trap command. Left-click on KickKeys icon in the system tray
to release all the applications. Then left-click it again to re-trap applications.
- The application has become
unstable. Release the applications
Problem:
Garbage characters appear in Microsoft Word
Possible
Solutions:
- Microsoft
Word uses auto-correct features which you need to turn off. While automatically changing
the first letter of a sentence to capital letter is ok for English language, it produces
incorrect letters for Bengali or Hindi. To turn off auto-correct features go to tools menu in Word
and click on autocorrect. Ensure that all autocorrect featurs are unselected in the
autocorrect tab.
